Frater,

A Golf Course has been selected...

As mentioned last month, it has been decided that this year's Annual Bob Simon Memorial Alumni Golf Tournament will be taking a vacation.  In order to switch things up a little, the Golf Committee has secured the Sycamore Creek Golf Club in Osage Beach, MO. The Tournament will be held on June 3rd, 2006 with a 1 pm shotgun start.  The $100 entry fee will include lunch, green fees, a cart, drinks, snacks & and the post-tournament dinner.

In addition, rooms at the Tan-Tar-A resort have been reserved with a generous rate of $89 per room, per night.  This is a great resort for families and is only 10-15 minutes from the course.

You can count on more information coming up in future newsletters.

TKEalumni.org Has One MAJOR Improvement...

After some brief downtime, the TKEalumni.org website is up and running again.  And with this little re-launch, you will find that there is now a public discussion forum on the site.  You can use this space to post (almost) anything your little heart desires.

I say "almost anything" because this is a PUBLIC forum, which can be accessed by anyone who happens upon our site.  With this in mind, please use your better judgment and know that I reserve the right to remove/edit anything that is posted and may not be in the Chapter's best interest.

Don't worry, I am currently working on a PRIVATE forum, which will be password protected.  This space will be for Frater's only and the perfect spot for trash talking, sharing the more embarrassing stories, and anything else you don't want your mother reading about.

Two are always better than one...

This week there are two separate happy hours planned on opposite sides of the "Show Me" State.  For those of you living on Missouri's 'west side', there is a Thursday night get-together planned at The Pointe Bar and Grille from 4 - 6pm.

Then on Friday night, just a little ways down I-70, there is another happy hour planned in the shadow of the St. Louis Arch.  This one will be at the Downtown Radisson from 4 - 6pm.  Hope you can make it to one of them.

The Board of Advisors...

I wanted to take a quick moment to recognize the members of the Kappa Nu Board of Advisors.  These fraters take time out their busy schedules to meet and assist the Kappa Nu actives in everything from financial responsibilities to risk management to public relations with alumni, Nationals, the school and their surrounding neighbors.

This year's Board consists of fraters Mike Chamberlain (Pledge Class 1985), Sean Franke (PC '92), Terry Madden (PC '91), Mike Mucherman (PC '94), Mike Rottinghaus (PC '89), Subbu Sarma (PC '92), Joe VanAckeren (PC '88), Brandon Woodward (PC '92) and current Kappa Nu Prytanis Mark Rotert (PC '04).

News From The Chapter...

We are happy to report that the grades for Fall 2005 are in and the Chapter's G.P.A. was a 3.29.  This brings the cumulative up to 3.15.

In addition, this year's pledge class is 15 members strong.  We look forward to bringing these men into the Kappa Nu fold.

Additional Golf News...

For those of you who are looking for a little more golf action this summer, the 4th Annual Father Joseph M. Freeman Memorial Golf Tournament is being held Monday, June 26, 2006.  The proceeds benefit the Rockhurst University Athletic Department.

The committee for this event is made up primarily of Kappa Nu Alumni and promises to be a good time for all involved.  Rates start at $275 for individuals, with a special rate of $175 for golfers who graduated between 1997 - 2006.  For more info, contact Frater Reggie Thorpe (PC '68):  comsnr@swbell.net.

Let Us Know...

As you can see, the number of items in this month's newsletter has increased, compared to last month's.  This is due to Fraters taking the time to send in tidbits, ideas and other noteworthy events.  So if you feel that there is something you should share with the rest of the Kappa Nu alumni ranks, please sent it on in:  newsletter@TKEalumni.org.

In addition, continue to forward these to fellow fraters.  Due to incomplete records, our e-mails are only getting to about 45% of our chapter's Alumni. You can help us update it by sending this to the fraters in your address book and encouraging them to contact me to add them to our mailing list.

Check Out Our Web Site

The web site contains news about upcoming events, photos, and the new forum for reconnecting with old freinds.  Drop in on us at www.TKEalumni.org.  In fact, tell your fellow fraters where they can find us on the web as well!

If at any time you would like to be removed from our e-mail list please contact us at remove@TKEalumni.org and you will be removed immediately.

Our policy is never to sell your information to third-party vendors. If you feel you are receiving SPAM or inappropriate messages based on your association with TKEalumni.org, please let us know about it immediately.
